Tabbot Privacy Policy

This document describes how Tabbot, including Tabbot affiliates ("we", "us", "our"), processes the personal information we collect about our users, whether they are an individual or an organization ("user", "you", "your") of our products and services (collectively, "Services").` The Application is a bill-splitting tool that uses optical character recognition (“OCR”) to itemize a photograph of a receipt into a list of selectable items, which enables the receipt owner to divvy up individual orders between other users.

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

User Provided Information

  • Profile information, such as your full name, alias, email, date of birth, and password
  • Information you provide to us while using our Services
  • Information you provide when seeking help from us, such as your name, telephone number, and records of the issues you experience
  • Billing information, such as your name, payment card number, payment account details, and shipping address.

Email addresses are only used for logging in, password resets, responding to emails that you initiate, and sending notifications that you request. We don’t send promotional emails.

The Application stores photos either taken using the camera feature of the Application or imported from the device's photo library. The application stores the contents of receipts from manual entry or returned from the OCR service. This may include, but is not limited to: names, prices, tips, taxes, or anything else that can parsed from the image which may be useful in providing context about the receipt.

Automatically Collected Information:

Our server software or the Application may also store basic technical information, including but not limited to: your IP address, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile operating system, and information about the way you use the Application.

The Applications collects aggregate, anonymous statistics, such as the percentage of users who use particular features, to improve the app.

The Application does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device.

Third party access to data obtained by the Application?

We do not share personal information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to accomplish the Application's functionality.

For the purpose of parsing receipt photographs into text, we send the receipt images you provide to the Application to an OCR processing provider. Anything visible in the photo, or any metadata in the image file will be visible to our OCR provider and is subject to their privacy policy.

We may share anonymous, aggregate statistics with outside parties, such as how many people visit a particular restaurant or our interact with a particular feature of the Application.

We may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

We may disclose your information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal requirements; to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud or abuse, violations of our policies; or to protect our rights and property.

In the future, we may sell to, buy, merge with, or partner with other businesses. In such transactions, user information may be among the transferred assets.

How to Opt-Out

You can stop all collection of information by the Application by uninstalling the Application, using the standard uninstall processes available on your mobile device.

Data Retention Policy

We will retain User Provided data and Automatically Collected information for as long as you use the Application and we reserve the right to retain it indefinitely thereafter. To request that your data be permanently deleted, please contact us via email at ubiqueiot@gmail.com.

The Application may delete your information at any time and for any reason, such as technical needs, legal concerns, abuse prevention, removal of idle accounts, data loss, or any other reason.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We do not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. No part of the Application is structured to attract anyone under 13.

Security

We implement a variety of security measures to help keep your information secure. For instance, all communication with the app and website requires HTTPS with certificate pinning. Passwords are hashed, not stored, using industry-standard methods. We limit access to this information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our Application. Please be aware that no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy here. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes. Information for European Union Customers

By using the Application and providing your information, you authorize us to collect, use, and store your information outside of the European Union.

California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.
